University of Jos Appoints New Librarian

 



The 15th Governing Council of the University of Jos has appointed Professor Victoria Ladi Lawal as the new University Librarian for a five-year term.


Professor Lawal, from the Department of Social Science Education, Library and Information Science Unit, Faculty of Education, was selected following the Council’s review of the report from its Selection Board, which interviewed candidates for the position. Her appointment takes effect from February 14, 2025.


With this appointment, Professor Lawal becomes the 6th University Librarian of the institution. Before assuming this role, she served as a lecturer in the Library and Information Science (LIS) Unit at the University of Jos.


The University community warmly welcomes Professor Victoria Ladi Lawal and looks forward to her contributions to the institution’s academic and research development.
