Important Notice to UNIJOS Students: Urgent Update on NELFund and Exams

In preparation for the upcoming examinations starting Monday, February 3, 2025, the management of the Federal University of Jos (UNIJOS), in collaboration with student leaders, has introduced special measures to support students facing financial difficulties.

According to an official notice released by the institution, students who have received approval for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) but have yet to receive their disbursement will be allowed to sit for their exams. Such students must print and present evidence of their loan approval at the examination hall.

Additionally, indigent students who are genuinely unable to afford school fees are advised to visit the Directorate of Student Affairs for certification and authentication of their status. An officer will be available at the office starting Sunday, February 2, 2025, to assist students in this category.

In further efforts to ease financial strain, both new and returning students who are unable to pay their full school charges will be permitted to pay in two instalments.

These measures come as a relief to many students who were concerned about their ability to sit for their exams due to financial constraints. The university management reiterated its commitment to ensuring that no student is denied access to education due to financial hardship.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of these provisions and ensure they meet the necessary requirements to be allowed into the examination halls.
